Despite its beauty aloe vera is also known for its extensive medical properties. The gel which makes up the inside of an aloe vera leaf can be harvested and directly applied to one’s skin to treat burns, rashes, cuts, and other skin injuries. Essentially the aloe creates a layer of protection over one’s skin, rich in minerals and antioxidants which improve the healing of the skin. This gel can also be applied to one’s hair, as a moisturizer and healing agent. ALOE VERA GEL CAN BE CONSUMED and can provide many health benefits. Smoothies, salads, and juices are perfect to add aloe Vera gel into. When consumed, this gel may improve oral health, regulate blood sugar, and help with digestion.
As its name hints at, the Aloe ‘Christmas Sleigh‘ is easily identified by the red spikes it grows on its predominantly green aloe leaves. This aesthetic features make this succulent and perfect gift and decor during the holidays. The Aloe ‘Christmas Sleigh’ is also known for its ability to purify the air by filtering out pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene. Moreover, this aloe continues to produce oxygen during the night, providing an extra source of natural oxygen. Similar to the Aloe Vera, the Aloe ‘Christmas Sleigh also contain gel in its leaves which can be used to treat skin irritations, such as rashes and burns. HARVESTED GEL FROM THIS SUCCULENT IS SAFE AND NUTRITIOUS TO CONSUME, especially when mixed with other foods such as in a juice or smoothie. However, the ALOE LATEX, the sticky substance right beauty the leaf skin AND the LEAF’S SKIN itself can both cause digestive pain and therefore SHOULD NOT BE CONSUMED.
Also referred to as Aloe ‘Starry Night,’ this succulent is hybrid which was made and grown by Renee O’Connell from a cross-breeding between two other aloe succulents. Vivid green in color when healthy, the Aloe ‘Night Sky’ forms star-shaped rosettes with sharp-teeth leaves similar to those on an Aloe Vera. As a natural air purifier, the Aloe ‘Night Sky’ can rid indoor pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene while also producing much oxygen. This succulent also contains aloe gel which can be used as a medical remedy to treat burns, acne, rashes, and cuts. Moreover, the gel from this aloe can be used as a moisturizer for skin. Unfortunately, the Aloe ‘Night Sky’ has some toxic substances which can cause severe gastrointestinal pain if ingested. So DO NOT EAT THE GEL OF THIS SUCCULENT.
Similar to the Aloe “Night Sky,” the Aloe “Firecracker“ is a hybrid aloe. It was first grown in 2016 and its seed parent is the Aloe “Pink Blush.” Like many other aloes, this succulent forms a beautiful star-shaped rosette pattern with green, rough leaves speckled with whites and red colors. Three to four times a year, the Aloe “Firecracker” may growth a flower stalk that will bloom with red flowers. For best growth results, this succulent should receive plenty of bright indirect sunlight. Too much direct sunlight could burn the leaves. This aloe is also NOT SAFE TO CONSUME as it is toxic to humans and gastrointestinal pain or other severe symptoms will follow if consumed. Immediate emergency care will be required if this plant is consumed, especially for young kids and babies. Otherwise, this aloe cactus is a unique, visually appealing, and rather easy succulent to grow.
